Submental fullness, sometimes referred to as “double chin”, is a common yet undertreated facial aesthetic condition. It impacts a broad range of adults, including both women and men. The occurrence of a double chin is influenced by several factors, such as aging, genetics and weight gain. Submental fullness is often resistant to diet and exercise alone. Having a double chin can detract from an otherwise balanced and harmonious facial appearance – leading to an older and heavier look. According to a 2014 survey by the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, approximately 7 out of 10 consumers are bothered by a double chin[1]. Until now, chin liposuction or a surgical neck lift has been the only way to eliminate the unwanted double chin.

What is KYBELLA™?

KYBELLA™ (deoxycholic acid) injection, also known as ATX-101, is the first and only FDA-approved nonsurgical treatment that contours and improves the appearance and profile of moderate to severe fat below the chin. KYBELLA™ is specifically designed for double chin removal.

How it works:

KYBELLA™ is a non-human and non-animal formulation of deoxycholic acid, a naturally occurring molecule in the body that aids in the breakdown and absorption of dietary fat. When injected into subcutaneous fat, KYBELLA™ causes the destruction of fat cells. Once destroyed, those cells cannot store or accumulate fat. The treatment is currently approved to provide a non-surgical neck lift.

KYBELLA™ is administered by injections into the fat under the chin. Each 15 to 20 minute treatment is customized to help achieve the client’s aesthetic goals for an improved chin profile. Once the desired result is achieved with KYBELLA™, re-treatment is not expected.

Anticipated Results:

Many clients experience visible results within two to four treatment sessions spaced at least one month apart. Up to six treatments may be administered. KYBELLA™ treatments have resulted in high client satisfaction.
